Vaginal Thrush Treatment
Treatment for vaginal thrush (candida infection) may be available from the pharmacist without a prescription, following a consultation if it is clinically appropriate.
It is important to note that not all vaginal infections are caused by thrush. During a consultation, the pharmacist will discuss your symptoms and assess whether pharmacist-supplied treatment may be appropriate or whether referral to a doctor is recommended.
You can speak with our pharmacist in a private consultation area to discuss your symptoms and receive advice.
Treatment options
If appropriate, the pharmacist may recommend or supply treatments such as:
Antifungal creams
Vaginal pessaries (tablets inserted into the vagina)
Oral antifungal capsules
These medicines are used to treat candida (yeast) infections, which are a common cause of vaginal thrush.
If you think you may have symptoms of vaginal thrush, please visit Mercury Bay Pharmacy and speak with one of our pharmacists.
No appointment is required
A consultation fee and medication costs may apply
