Oral Contraceptive Pill
Selected oral contraceptive pills may be available from an accredited pharmacist at Mercury Bay Pharmacy without a prescription, where it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so.
To be eligible for pharmacist supply, you must have previously been prescribed an oral contraceptive pill by a doctor or nurse practitioner within the last three years, and have had at least two consultations with your prescriber regarding the pill.
Age requirements for pharmacist supply in New Zealand:
Combined oral contraceptive pill: for people aged 16 to 39 years
Progestogen-only pill: for people aged 15 to 52 years
Only certain oral contraceptive pills can be supplied by a pharmacist. These may include commonly used brands such as:

To continue pharmacist supply, you will need a full consultation with the pharmacist at least once every 12 months to ensure the medication remains suitable.
Please note:
A consultation fee may apply
The cost of the medication will vary depending on the pill supplied
No appointment is necessary
